late at night when all the world is sleeping, performance, bed, candles, vase with one dozen roses, glass table, purple LED lights, 2021

late at night when all the world is sleeping is a performance reflecting on love and a queer longing for intimacy through the queer tradition of the lip-sync. Composed as a stylized bedroom concert, the performance strives to create a space of liberation, solidarity, and queer imagination. Multitudes of emotions are contained in the private quarters of a bedroom. Alone in my bedroom, I’ve buried my face in my pillows to scream and to cry from heartbreak. I’ve also embraced lovers while we exchanged our hopes and dreams in the brief moments our paths crossed. In the bedroom I’ve looked out my window and towards the moon, wondering if you’re thinking of me too.
